Chase & Holland are proud to be working with an established and innovative business who are looking to recruit a Technical Sales Engineer to join their team. The purpose of this role is to secure profitable engineering contracts. The business is currently working on some really exciting projects with some big clients so it’s a great time to join!

Technical Sales Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Managing customers’ expectations and securing profitable contracts
  • Ensuring that project concepts and plans are produced, communicated, and understood by the other areas of the business
  • Taking responsibility for assigned accounts and customers
  • Understanding and managing risk (technical, commercial, financial and programme) for project proposals to protect the company relating to the contractual requirements and our commitments
  • Meeting sales targets for profitability
  • Inspiring others to achieve the high standards of business excellence
  • Working closely with the Directors and Management team to set and maintain the direction and strategy for the department to meet business targets and KPIs
  • Producing business plans and acquire market knowledge
  • Ensuring that deadlines set by customers and the organisation are achieved
  • Managing sales pipeline
  • Producing development plans
  • Undertaking customer visits and visit reporting
  • Promoting long framework agreements and contracts
  • Providing effective reporting

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Engineering, Business or Manufacturing Qualification at HND level or equivalent
  • Extensive commercial and technical experience from similar industries and roles
  • Experience of enquiry and bid management
  • Experience of producing sales proposals within similar industries
  • Capable of showing a natural ability of sustaining customer relationships that have led to successful and profitable sales
  • Ability to independently plan, organise and work to tight deadlines
