Customs Shift Leader Responsibilities:
- Respond to customs queries via specified platforms (email/portals/IT platforms, etc.) with awareness of duty and VAT calculations
- Maintaining and ensuring compliance with current legislation and customs procedures
- Managing staffing for each shift, promptly raising any potential issues and resolutions
- Review the daily workload and priorities, distribute tasks based on each agent's skill level and availability
- Communicating the expectations and deadlines for each task, providing necessary resources and information for completion
- Monitoring the progress of assigned tasks throughout the day, providing support and guidance as needed
- Check that tasks are completed to the required standard
- Providing constructive feedback to agents on their performance and quality
- Recording task completion and any relevant notes or observations
- Maintaining the issue tracking and provide root cause analysis
- Monitor Team performance by capturing data and providing consistent reports to the Management Team
- Communicating and documenting any business/process changes effectively
- Managing the end-to-end lifecycle of team members
Required Skills & Experience:
- Experience managing a team
- Proven customer service experience within a similar role with proven leadership experience
- Excellent communication skills, able to work effectively within a team and build customer relationships
- IT literate and adaptable to new software/systems such as Salesforce, SAP, Sage etc.
