This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with previous buying, purchasing or supply chain experience to take ownership of a varied supplier portfolio and play an important role in maintaining stock availability and supporting the wider business. Package & Benefits: Salary of £30,000 per annum, pro-rata for the contract length Temporary contract – 2 Months Fully site based Opportunity to join an established and successful organisation Varied purchasing role with responsibility for supplier and stock management Opportunity to contribute to process improvement projects Buyer Responsibilities: Place and manage purchase orders to ensure product availability and prevent stock shortages Review outstanding orders and proactively chase suppliers for delivery updates Liaise with suppliers regarding delivery dates, priority orders and stock availability Negotiate pricing, lead times and order quantities to achieve the best commercial outcome Maintain accurate promise dates, supplier information and order records Monitor stock levels, identifying potential shortages and opportunities to reduce overstock Resolve supplier issues relating to pricing, delivery errors and product quality Liaise with Account Managers regarding stock availability and delivery requirements Work closely with Quality, Customer Service, Finance, Warehouse and Goods In teams Monitor and cancel overdue or unnecessary orders where appropriate Liaise with freight forwarders and Stores to support timely deliveries Support new product introductions and wider Supply Chain projects Identify opportunities to improve purchasing processes, lead times, costs and stock flow Required Skills & Experience: Previous experience within Buying, Purchasing or Supply Chain Experience managing suppliers and purchase orders Strong commercial awareness, particularly around pricing, lead times and delivery costs Excellent organisation skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities Strong communication and negotiation skills A proactive approach to problem solving and supplier management Good attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate system information Experience within wholesale, FMCG, distribution or another stock-led environment would be advantageous If you are interested in finding out about this exciting Buyer opportunity, please click ‘apply now’.
