An established energy solutions business is looking to appoint a Key Account Manager to cover a regional territory around Bristol - South West area. This is a field-based sales role suited to someone who enjoys winning new business, developing customer relationships and growing existing accounts. The position is predominantly focused on business development, with responsibility for identifying new opportunities and expanding the customer base, alongside managing established accounts.

The role:

  • Identifying and converting new business opportunities across the territory
  • Developing and maintaining long-term customer relationships
  • Growing revenue and margins within an existing customer portfolio
  • Working towards annual new-business and sales targets
  • Managing the full sales pipeline, from prospecting through to pricing and contract renewal
  • Retaining existing customers through proactive account management and re-contracting
  • Promoting lower-carbon energy solutions to both new and existing customers
  • Monitoring market and competitor activity and feeding relevant intelligence back to the business
  • Attending customer meetings, industry events and conferences
  • Carrying out customer site visits and gathering information required to support potential projects
  • Working closely with internal teams to ensure opportunities progress effectively
  • Maintaining accurate records of mileage, expenditure, pipeline activity and customer information

About you:

  • Experienced in business development and/or account management
  • Confident identifying opportunities and converting prospects into customers
  • Comfortable working independently across a defined geographical territory
  • Strong at building and maintaining customer relationships
  • Commercially aware and comfortable working towards revenue, volume and margin targets
  • IT literate, organised and numerate
  • Confident communicating with customers and internal stakeholders
  • Interested in developing their technical knowledge
  • A full UK driving licence is required
