The Opportunity
- Reporting to a senior finance leader, you will act as the finance lead across multiple operational businesses, providing robust financial reporting, insightful analysis, and trusted commercial guidance.
- This is far more than a traditional reporting role—you’ll be:
- Partnering with operational teams to drive profitability and performance
- Providing clear, actionable financial insight to support decision-making
- Playing a key role in budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning
- Supporting commercial bids, pricing, and contract performance
- Leading on process improvements and system enhancements
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver timely and accurate monthly management accounts, including insightful commentary and variance analysis
- Partner with operational stakeholders to understand performance drivers and improve outcomes
- Support strategic planning, including budgets, forecasts, and 5-year plans
- Provide financial input into tenders, pricing models, and new business opportunities
- Monitor contract performance, including profitability and work-in-progress
- Develop and enhance financial processes, systems, and reporting
- Produce cash flow forecasts and monitor financial health across the business
- Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and commercial awareness
About You
- We’re looking for a proactive and commercially aware finance professional who is confident working closely with non-finance stakeholders.
- A qualified accountant, later stages PQ or strong qualified by experience
- Experienced in management accounting and financial analysis
- Confident communicating financial information to a non-finance audience
- Skilled in budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis
- Highly proficient in Excel and finance systems
- Experience within construction, contracting, or project-based environments would be highly advantageous.
