With a strong financially secured pipeline of ongoing and upcoming developments, we now have a new opportunity for an Assistant Site Manager to join us from the Housing Developer industry.
This exciting opportunity is for an Assistant Site Manager to join our team within Charwin Homes Ltd, at our development in Martham, Norfolk. As our Assistant Site Manager, you will support our Site/Project Manager with the day-to-day management of the development, site operations and build programmes. You will undertake responsibilities directed by the Site/Project Manager that include all construction activities across the developments up to delivering excellent customer service at handover and through the life cycle of our construction works on site.
The ideal candidate will have experience in programming, chairing contractor meetings, ensuring build quality inspections are undertaken, meeting the customer in customer-facing roles along with strong administration and communication skills. This is a hands-on, fast-paced role with lots of variety. You’ll work closely with the internal contractor teams in executing the construction build processes and maintaining accurate records and documentation.
You will demonstrate a proven active approach to the house building industry, working within a team environment from the project's inception through to its completion.
Key Responsibilities- To coordinate and direct the necessary subcontractors, labour, plant, staff, equipment and material deliveries to achieve both plot and project completion on time, to specification and within budget.
- Ensure compliance with Company Safety Policy and Health and Safety Regulations.
- Deputise for the Site or Project Manager as identified and approved by the Head of Construction.
- 100% compliance with current Warranty Provider / Local Authority standards, assisting with inspections.
- Carry out site inspections, snagging and quality checks throughout the build process, helping to ensure homes are defect-free and ready for customer handover.
- Maintaining high standards of site presentation and waste management.
- Achieve 5* status on overall satisfaction levels on the completed Customer satisfaction survey questionnaire.
- Build productive stakeholder relationships.
- Adhere to our company values – Integrity, Caring and Quality.
- Completion of all necessary Health, Safety & Environmental documents, in line with Company policy.
- Comply with the company life cycle of Site processes.
- Assist the sales site team regarding customer choices and variations. Assisting with agreed customer site visits and at handover meetings.
- Degree-qualified in Construction Management, CIOB, (or working toward) preferred or a trade background with 18 months previous experience in ASM role preferred.
- NVQ Level 4-7 in Residential Construction Site Supervision.
- Proficient in Asta Programme Management, and MS Office Suite.
- Strong knowledge of NHBC standards and Building Regulations.
- Valid SMSTS certificate.
- CSCS Card (Manager/Supervisor Level).
- Valid First Aid at Work certificate.
- Valid Basic Scaffolding Awareness Certificate.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Based within sensible commutable distance to our new development located in Martham, Norfolk.
