Are you passionate about improving the health and wellbeing of children and young people? Do you want to use your nutrition expertise to make a genuine social impact? We are looking for a highly organised and confident Nutritionist to join our dedicated team supporting Compass’ Education sector — covering state schools, independent schools, colleges and universities across approximately 2,000 sites.
This role is part of a large, supportive team of registered nutritionists who drive our wellbeing agenda and contribute directly to our Social Value Strategy: Climate Promise, Social Promise and Wellbeing Promise. At Chartwells, people and planet sit at the heart of everything we do.
This is a varied, meaningful and dynamic role where no two days are the same. You will work closely with pupils, students, families, school leaders and catering teams, ensuring safe allergen management, delivering engaging sessions, and helping promote healthy, sustainable eating.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver educational nutrition sessions to children and young people aged 4–18
- Advise on and manage allergen processes and requests
- Write medical diet menus for pupils with allergies or intolerances
- Deliver nutrition and allergen training to pupils, students, academics and catering staff
- Promote school meals and communicate their benefits to clients, parents and pupils
- Carry out site audits to ensure compliance with allergen management, waste management and school food standards
- Support strategic social value projects across the education portfolio
- Contribute to new business and retention presentations
About You
Essential Qualifications & Experience
- Degree or qualification in Nutrition (AfN-accredited or equivalent)
- Confident presenter, comfortable engaging large groups of children or adults
- Strong knowledge and experience of food allergies and intolerances
- Ability to translate complex nutrition information into clear, practical messages
- Excellent attention to detail
- Proven ability to manage a high workload
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to quickly gain credibility with key stakeholders
- Team player
- Full clean UK driver’s licence (the role requires travel across multiple sites)
