Reporting to: Supervisors, Duty Managers.

World Class Hospitality

National Theatre Food & Drink is a unique partnership between the National Theatre, Levy UK&I and KERB. Together we are creating a dynamic food and drink destination embedded within the heart of the NT’s operations, ensuring all public-facing venues, as well as internal hospitality and commercial events, support the NT’s overall vision, values, and culture.

Responsibility

  • Overseeing your section and staff in your department.
  • Ensuring all equipment, fixtures and fittings are in efficient working order and well presented, and to report to department management when this is not the case.
  • Ensuring stock rotation is taking place and your team are confident in this process, while also completing the monthly stock takes.
  • Support the team in your section with customer / equipment / process issues etc.
  • Follow the See, Care, Share guidelines.
  • Always staying vigilant to security matters.
  • Lead by example in appearance, approach, and professionalism and train where needed.
  • Ensure your section is aware of any promotions, events, bespoke requests within the NT.
  • Pre-empt customers’ needs and provide a tailored level of customer service, always aiming to exceed expectations.
  • Supporting your section to ensure all HSE, compliance, statutory regulations and legal requirements are met.
  • Undertake any training and professional development as determined by your managers.
  • Ensure wastage is recorded correctly.
  • Ensure any accidents, incidents and near misses are recorded and reported to the departmental management team.
  • To ensure the opening and closing procedures of your section are adhered to.
  • Carry out daily briefings to your section.
  • Adhere to all Compass / Levy policies and procedures.
  • Any other duties that are reasonably required of you.

  • Experience of working in a similar role and ready to hit the ground running.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure while maintaining a professional and personable approach.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Having and creating clear processes to ensure deadlines are met and control processes are always in place.
  • Awareness of COSHH.
  • Knowledge of EPOS and procurement systems (Desirable).
  • Flexible – you will be required to work evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.
  • Excellent, confident communication skills are essential.
  • You must be an approachable and welcoming person and take initiatives to ensure your customers are having the best possible experience.
  • The ability to work under pressure whilst maintaining a professional approach and always providing an efficient and effective service.
  • You will be a highly enthusiastic and motivated team player who can demonstrate a genuine passion in creating and providing first class customer service alongside your colleagues.
  • You should have a positive and flexible approach to work and be able to adapt very quickly to new information and procedures.
  • A smart, well-groomed appearance is essential (basic items of uniform will be provided).
