Sous Chef – Contract Catering & Hospitality – Earn up to £45K
We are seeking a hands-on, operational Sous Chef to join our team!
Working alongside another Sous Chef and the Head Chef, you will play a key role in delivering a high-quality food operation across hospitality, retail and production environments.
With an exciting new building and site mobilisation planned for next year, this is an excellent opportunity to be part of an evolving operation and play a key role in its future development.
- What you'll be doing
- Support the Head Chef with the day-to-day running of a busy, high-quality contract catering operation.
- Work across hospitality ensuring consistently high standards of food and service.
- Support the delivery of hospitality and events, adapting to changing requirements and service styles.
- Take responsibility for ordering, stock control, inventory and cost management.
- Assist with menu development, including seasonal changes, pricing and menu engineering.
- Lead, support and develop junior members of the kitchen team.
- Maintain consistently high standards of food quality, presentation and service.
- Ensure all health, safety, food hygiene and compliance standards are met.
- Play an active role in the mobilisation of the new building next year, helping to develop processes, standards and kitchen operations.
- What you'll bring
- Previous experience as a Sous Chef within contract catering, hospitality, events or a similar multi-site environment.
- A strong understanding of contract catering operations and the ability to deliver high standards within a client-focused environment.
- Experience working across different food service environments, ideally including hospitality, events, retail and production.
- Strong operational knowledge, including ordering, stock management, cost control and menu planning.
- Proven ability to lead and motivate a kitchen team in a fast-paced environment.
- A flexible and hands-on approach, with the ability to adapt to different services and operational requirements.
- A genuine passion for food, hospitality and delivering an excellent customer experience.
