We're looking for a talented Hospitality Sous Chef to join a busy and growing contract catering operation. Working within a small but ambitious kitchen brigade consisting of a Head Chef, Sous Chef, 2 CDPs and a Commis Chef, you'll support a diverse food offering from working lunches to afternoon teas and an expanding fine dining programme.
What you’ll be doing:
- Supporting the Head Chef with the day-to-day running of the kitchen
- Delivering high-quality food across breakfast, lunch, dinner, hospitality and event catering
- Assisting with menu development and bringing fresh ideas to the food offering
- Leading and motivating the kitchen team during service
- Maintaining excellent food quality, presentation and hygiene standards
- Building strong working relationships with clients and stakeholders
- Supporting a variety of events, from large-scale corporate hospitality to fine dining and VIP functions
- Helping drive the continued growth and development of the hospitality operation
What you’ll need to succeed:
- Previous experience as a Sous Chef, or a strong Senior Chef de Partie ready to step up
- Experience within hospitality, contract catering, hotels or quality pub environments
- A strong all-round culinary background with the ability to adapt to different styles of service
- Excellent leadership and team development skills
- Passion for fresh food, quality and presentation
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to perform in a fast-paced environment
- A proactive approach to menu development and continuous improvement
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive client relationships
- A desire to develop your career within a growing business
- Availability to start within a short notice period (ideally two weeks)
