We're currently recruiting a dedicated Cleaner (Zero Hours) to help ensure the smooth running of the operations in Defence on a permanent casual basis, contracted to 0 hours per week.

  • Overall Purpose of the Role

To maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic environment by carrying out cleaning duties in accordance with company standards, site procedures, health and safety requirements, and customer expectations.

The Cleaner will contribute to a positive customer experience by ensuring all designated areas are cleaned and maintained to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out cleaning duties in designated areas as directed by the Line Manager or Supervisor.
  • Ensure all work is completed in accordance with agreed cleaning schedules and company standards.
  • Clean and sanitise floors, surfaces, washrooms, kitchens, offices, accommodation, and communal areas as required.
  • Replenish consumables such as toilet tissue, hand soap, paper towels, and other hygiene products.
  • Safely use cleaning chemicals, equipment, and machinery in accordance with training and COSHH requirements.
  • Conduct routine checks of cleaning equipment and report defects or maintenance issues promptly.
  • Ensure any hazards, accidents, near misses, spillages, or unsafe conditions are reported immediately to the Line Manager.
  • Store cleaning materials and equipment safely and securely after use.
  • Follow all Health & Safety, Environmental, Food Safety (where applicable), and Security procedures.
  • Adhere to infection prevention and control procedures where required.
  • Maintain high standards of personal presentation and hygiene.
  • Complete cleaning records, checklists, timesheets, and other documentation as required.
  • Work effectively as part of a team and support colleagues when required.
  • Provide a professional and courteous service to customers, colleagues, and visitors.
  • Attend training sessions and toolbox talks as required.
  • Carry out any other reasonable duties requested by the Line Manager.
