We are seeking an experienced and driven Cleaning Manager to lead delivery of high-quality cleaning services within a Defence environment. You will be responsible for managing teams, ensuring compliance, and maintaining exceptional cleanliness standards, while delivering an outstanding customer experience in line with Compass Group standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily cleaning operations, ensuring high standards of hygiene, safety, and compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Lead, train, and motivate cleaning teams to consistently deliver excellent service.
  • Manage staffing levels, rotas, and labour costs effectively within budget.
  • Monitor cleaning standards through regular audits and inspections, driving continuous improvement.
  • Maintain stock control of cleaning materials and equipment.
  • Build strong client relationships, attend review meetings, and contribute to monthly reporting.
  • Ensure all compliance documentation, COSHH records, and cleaning schedules are up to date.
  • Support wider soft FM operations and provide cover for supervisors where required.

What We’re Looking For

Essential:

  • Proven experience managing cleaning operations or soft FM services.
  • Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of health & safety regulations and cleaning compliance (including COSHH).
  • Experience managing budgets, labour, and resources.
  • IT literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.

Desirable:

  • Experience within MOD/Defence or secure environments.
  • Knowledge of service management or auditing systems.
  • Relevant cleaning or FM qualifications.
