Salary: £40,000 per annum + 10% performance‐related bonus
Working Pattern: 40 hours per week, Monday–Friday (9am–5pm), with occasional evenings or weekends as required.
About the Role
This role involves managing all aspects of events, sales and marketing operations for a prestigious City venue in London. You will lead the sales department, drive revenue growth and ensure the venue's marketing strategy aligns with its sales objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify new business opportunities through industry research and networking.
- Grow and develop relationships with prospective and existing key accounts.
- Produce accurate business reports and identify revenue growth opportunities.
- Manage the venue's online marketing across all channels, including external agencies.
- Plan and deliver the venue's marketing strategy with support from the central team.
- Attend events such as open days, exhibitions and networking opportunities to engage with clients.
- Ensure all marketing and sales materials align with the venue's sales strategy.
- Create high‐quality proposals for corporate, private and social events.
- Oversee event invoicing and payment processes.
- Drive new and repeat business while promoting all venue services and facilities.
- Lead the sales function and ensure best practice is followed at all times.
- Motivate and develop the on‐site sales team.
- Use event operations knowledge to support new initiatives and business opportunities.
- Increase business volume through proactive sales and strong client relationships.
- Ensure the highest level of customer care from the sales team.
- Support proactive sales and marketing to grow venue business and visibility.
- Maximise revenue and spend per head across events.
- Achieve and exceed sales targets across room hire, food and beverage, and additional services.
- Maintain accurate financial records and booking status for forecasting.
Ideal Candidate
- Previous experience of building a pipeline of new business.
- Previous experience of managing a marketing budget and plan with an emphasis on online.
- Strong commercial and financial awareness with team leadership experience.
- Experience working within an events, sales and marketing role for an events/venue company, preferably dealing with volume/outdoor/marquee events.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to adapt the approach and style depending on who they are liaising with.
- Natural flair for networking, self‐driven and enthusiastic about success in their role.
- Experience in a proactive sales and marketing capacity.
- Can measure and manage sales team performance.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Experience presenting and exhibiting preferred as the face of the venue.
