The role involves embedding a proactive safety culture, ensuring allergen compliance, and supporting sustainable catering operations at the Kia Oval.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead all aspects of food safety and allergen management across matchday catering and event operations.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety legislation, hygiene standards and company policies.
  • Oversee allergen information, recipe management and menu compliance using relevant reporting systems.
  • Maintain robust controls to prevent cross‑contamination and ensure accurate labelling.
  • Conduct regular audits of culinary operations, maintaining accurate records of allergen data, audit findings and compliance documentation.
  • Act as a champion for safety culture, driving engagement and accountability across teams.
  • Provide expert HSE advice and support to operational managers and teams.
  • Lead the development, review and implementation of risk assessments.
  • Conduct safety audits and workplace inspections, implementing corrective actions.
  • Support incident investigations, ensuring timely resolution and preventive measures.
  • Ensure all HSE documentation is compliant, up to date and audit‑ready.
  • Own and manage training records and compliance matrices for all team members.
  • Conduct HSE inductions and mandatory training for new starters.
  • Deliver training on allergen awareness, food safety and HSE best practices.
  • Lead monthly and quarterly HSE meetings and business reviews.
  • Support delivery of Net Zero and sustainability initiatives, including responsible sourcing.
  • Build relationships with internal teams, suppliers and third parties to ensure compliance.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in F&B, culinary compliance or HSE role in a high‑volume environment.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety, allergen management and UK health & safety legislation.
  • Experience leading risk assessments, audits and maintaining compliance documentation.
  • Ability to drive a positive safety culture and influence teams at all levels.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills, strong attention to detail.
  • Experience managing training records and delivering staff training on compliance and HSE.
  • Passion for sustainability and continuous improvement within hospitality operations.
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and match days.
