Constellation are currently recruiting a talented and passionate Chef de Partie to join the catering team in Glasgow area. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a professional and fast-paced hospitality environment serving trainees, staff, and guests on site. While not working in the Glasgow events you can work at other venues across Scotland; accommodation and travel can be offered. TEMP TO PERM OPPORTUNITIES ALSO AVAILABLE.
About the Role
As Chef de Partie, you will support the kitchen management team in delivering high-quality meals and hospitality services across the college catering facilities. You will be responsible for managing your own kitchen section efficiently while maintaining exceptional food standards, hygiene, and presentation. The role requires a motivated chef who is organised, reliable, and passionate about producing quality food in a busy catering environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, cook, and present high-quality meals within your designated kitchen section
- Support the smooth operation of daily food service across the college facilities
- Maintain excellent food hygiene and health & safety standards at all times
- Assist with menu preparation, stock control, and food ordering procedures
- Ensure all food is prepared and presented to agreed standards
- Monitor portion control and minimise food waste
- Support and mentor junior kitchen staff where required
- Ensure kitchen equipment and work areas are kept clean and organised
- Follow all allergen, HACCP, and food safety regulations
- Assist with hospitality functions, events, and large-scale catering services as required
- Work collaboratively with the wider kitchen and front-of-house teams
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience working as a Chef de Partie
- Strong knowledge of food preparation and kitchen operations
- Good understanding of food hygiene, allergen awareness, and HACCP procedures
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a busy kitchen environment
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Positive attitude and strong team-working abilities
- Passion for delivering high-quality food and service
- Reliable and flexible approach to work
Desirable Experience
- Professional cookery qualification
- Experience within contract catering, hospitality, education, defence, or large-scale catering environments
- Food Safety Level 2 or equivalent certification
