We are on the lookout for experienced, talented additions to our culinary team, including: Commis Chefs, Chef De Parties and Senior Chef De Parties to help us deliver the highest quality catering, which reflects and enhances the campus’ outstanding reputation!

Outline of the role!

The SEC consists of three venues – the OVO Hydro, SEC Centre and SEC Armadillo, each providing a truly unique experience for our guests.

At SEC Food, our culinary team are essential in delivering high quality food for a variety of event across a busy campus.

As a core part of our culinary team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring every dish that leaves the kitchen is of the highest standard.

From food safety to cooking techniques, your expertise will keep our kitchen running smoothly.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Help to prepare, cook and present food to exceptional standards
  • Maintain High standards of food hygiene and kitchen safety
  • Prepare food to menu specifications ensuring that Levy standards and procedures are followed.
  • Minimise product wastage
  • Work efficiently as part of a team
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt quickly to menu changes and kitchen set ups.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen environment
  • Assist with new team members by giving respectful and encouraging coaching.

Essential Requirements

  • Proven experience in a similar role in a professional kitchen
  • Strong knowledge of kitchen operations and food safety standards (HACCP procedures, allergen control, temperature logs, etc.)
  • Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Excellent knife skills and attention to detail in food preparation and presentation
  • Ability to manage a specific section efficiently

Desirable

  • Formal culinary qualification (NVQ/SVQ Level 2 or 3, or equivalent).
  • Experience in a high-volume or fine dining kitchen (depending on your business).
  • Knowledge of allergen handling and dietary requirements.
  • Passion for food and ongoing learning.
