Marketing Manager - Epsom, Kempton & Sandown Racecourses, London Region | Full-Time / Permanent Up to £43k + excellent benefits including healthcare, wellbeing support, 23 days' annual leave plus bank holidays, life assurance, meals on duty, and more.

We’re looking for a proactive and commercially minded Marketing Manager to help grow conference and events revenue across three iconic London racecourses: Sandown Park, Epsom Downs and Kempton Park. This is a brilliant opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, wants ownership of their own marketing plans, and is excited by the chance to shape how these unique venues are promoted beyond race days.

You’ll lead campaigns across meetings, conferences, exhibitions, celebrations and private events, working closely with venue teams and sales colleagues to turn great spaces, stories and experiences into enquiries and bookings. This is a hands-on role for someone who likes making things happen. You’ll be trusted to plan and deliver integrated campaigns, spot commercial opportunities, create engaging content and bring fresh ideas to a portfolio of venues with serious potential.

We’re looking for someone creative, organised and confident working with different stakeholders, with the drive to test, learn and keep improving performance. Given the multi-site nature of this role, it is essential that you hold a full driving licence and have access to a vehicle to carry out regular travel between venues and HQ.

The Role

  • Marketing Strategy & Planning: Create and deliver marketing plans that raise awareness, generate quality enquiries and support revenue growth across our conference and event spaces. Identify target markets and create tailored campaigns to drive leads and conversions. Ensure all marketing activity is underpinned by clear objectives that support conference and event revenue.
  • Budget Management: Manage a budget to deliver targeted activity that demonstrates ROI. Invoice management.
  • Campaign Management: Plan and deliver multi-channel campaigns across email, social media, paid advertising, owned channels, exhibitions, events and content marketing. Manage campaign budgets and report on ROI and performance metrics. Own the marketing and communications calendar, ensuring all content, campaigns, events, seasonal opportunities and relevant national days can be seen at a glance and are planned and executed. Proactively identify key focus periods and implement campaigns that support commercial objectives.
  • Digital Marketing & SEO: Work with our digital agency to keep our conference and events website content fresh, relevant and optimised to generate quality leads in line with each venue’s commercial objectives. Create and post relevant social media content for each venue growing followers, reach and engagement. Support the promotion of selected ticketed, client and promoter-led events through owned and earned channels to maximise awareness and attendance.
  • Creative & Design: Produce basic creative, e.g. social media assets, to brand guidelines using Canva or Adobe. Manage an external design agency to produce high-quality marketing collateral, including brochures, racecourse screen content etc. Work with the Sales team to create a compelling sales tool kit, that is regularly reviewed and updated with new content. Develop and commission compelling content to execute briefs that drive brand awareness and event enquiries. Act as a brand guardian for your venues and The Jockey Club Experiences.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with venue teams and sales teams to understand offerings and create compelling propositions. Maintain strong communication with venue GMs and operational teams to understand priorities and key stories. Work closely with venue sales teams to align marketing activity with enquiry trends, commercial priorities and conversion opportunities. Liaise with internal teams, including The Jockey Club's Central Marketing department, to ensure brand consistency, compliance and alignment with overall business objectives. On a day-to-day basis work with other C&E Marketing Managers and Head of C&E Marketing to ensure alignment and support efficiencies.
  • Email Marketing/ Data Enhancement: Plan, build, and send targeted email campaigns that engage audiences, nurture leads, and drive bookings. Monitor engagement and optimise for performance. Ensure all data capture and storage comply with GDPR/ PECR and company data protection policies. Maintain accurate and secure customer data within CRM systems. Develop and execute plans to compliantly capture and target more C&E data.
  • PR & Comms: Work with our chosen PR agency to plan and create content that will be published in C&E trade press. Write, edit and proofread copy for multiple channels – audience focussed with attention to detail.
  • Analytics & Reporting: Monitor marketing performance against enquiries, pipeline and revenue outcomes, making recommendations to improve return on investment and campaign effectiveness. Ensure all marketing activity is tracked rigorously and reported regularly to key stakeholders.

Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience in marketing, ideally within events or venues.
  • Comfortable using basic design platforms e.g. Canva or Adobe applications.
  • Good knowledge of digital marketing, including SEO, PPC, and social media.
  • Hands-on marketing experience with pro-activity at the heart of everything you do.
  • Excellent project management and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to manage external agencies and deliver projects on time and within budget.
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders – leading the marketing narrative.
  • Creative thinker with strong copywriting and content creation skills.
  • Analytical mindset with ability to interpret data and adapt strategy.
  • Comfortable working across multiple sites, as a team and independently.
  • Be curious about the latest marketing, technology and A.I. trends.
