Assistant Operations Manager - Event Catering

Location: EICC, Edinburgh
Salary: £30000 - £33000 + Excellent Benefits
Contract: Full Time

About the Role

As Assistant Operations Manager, you'll support the planning and delivery of outstanding event catering across the EICC. Working alongside the Operations Manager, you'll lead teams on event days, ensure exceptional service standards, and help create memorable guest experiences from the first coffee break through to spectacular gala dinners.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Supporting the operational delivery of conferences, exhibitions, banquets and hospitality events.
  • Leading, motivating and developing front of house teams to deliver exceptional guest experiences.
  • Ensuring food and beverage service is delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest standards.
  • Working closely with the kitchen, logistics and event planning teams to ensure seamless event execution.
  • Managing event set ups, service delivery and breakdowns.
  • Monitoring labour deployment and supporting cost control.
  • Ensuring compliance with food safety, health & safety and licensing regulations.
  • Handling guest feedback professionally and proactively.
  • Supporting training, coaching and performance development across the team.

We're Looking For Someone Who Has

  • Experience in hospitality or event catering operations within hotels, conference venues, stadiums or large scale events.
  • Previous supervisory or management experience.
  • A passion for delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Confidence working in a fast paced, ever changing environment.
  • A proactive, hands on approach with great attention to detail.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required by the event schedule.
