About the Role
As a Catering Assistant, you will support the smooth day-to-day running of the catering service. You will assist with food preparation, service, cleaning duties, and maintaining high standards of hygiene and customer service throughout the dining areas and kitchen facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation and serving of meals, snacks, and beverages
- Set up and replenish food counters and dining areas
- Provide friendly and professional customer service to pupils, staff, and visitors
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen, dining, and food preparation areas
- Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment
- Support stock rotation and storage procedures
- Follow all food hygiene, allergen, and health & safety regulations
- Assist the kitchen team during busy meal service periods
- Operate tills and handle payments where required
- Ensure dining areas remain clean, tidy, and welcoming
