St. Andrew’s @ Knighthead Park | Birmingham City Football Club

Levy UK + Ireland

We’re Looking for More Than a Café Manager

At Levy UK + Ireland, we believe great hospitality creates places where people want to be. We're looking for an exceptional Café Manager to lead the day-to-day operation of an exciting new social café space at St. Andrew’s @ Knighthead Park, home of Birmingham City Football Club. This isn't a traditional café. It's a destination designed to bring people together – a welcoming environment that serves as a workplace café, informal meeting space, social hub, hospitality touchpoint and vibrant matchday destination.

As Café Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the culture, atmosphere and experience of the space. You'll create an environment where guests feel welcomed, teams feel inspired and every interaction reflects the very best of hospitality. We're looking for someone who combines strong commercial awareness and operational excellence with genuine warmth, energy and pride in what they do. Simply put, we're looking for someone who will treat this space as if it were their own.

The Opportunity

Reporting into the Levy leadership team, you'll lead all aspects of the café's daily operation, working collaboratively with Birmingham City Football Club and key stakeholders across Operations, Commercial, Marketing and People teams. You'll be responsible for delivering an outstanding guest experience, developing a high-performing team and ensuring the venue continues to evolve as part of Birmingham City Football Club's exciting long-term transformation. This is a unique opportunity to help shape a new hospitality concept from the ground up.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Leading the Operation
  • You'll take ownership of the day-to-day running of the café, ensuring every part of the guest journey feels seamless, welcoming and consistently high quality.
  • Lead daily café operations and service delivery
  • Create a space that feels vibrant, welcoming and well-presented at all times
  • Drive excellence across opening, service and closing routines
  • Maintain exceptional food, coffee and grab-and-go standards
  • Manage peak service periods with confidence and efficiency
  • Support operational adaptations for matchdays and special events
  • Work closely with club teams and partners to ensure a consistently excellent experience across the venue

Creating a Great Place to Work

  • Great hospitality starts with great people. You'll recruit, develop and inspire a passionate front-of-house team, creating a culture built on trust, collaboration and pride.
  • Recruit, train and develop talented team members
  • Foster a positive, inclusive and people-first culture
  • Deliver engaging onboarding, coaching and development programmes
  • Support succession planning and career progression
  • Set clear expectations around service, standards and behaviours
  • Lead by example through visibility, energy and professionalism

We're not looking for scripted service. We're looking for authenticity, personality and people who genuinely care.

Delivering Outstanding Guest Experiences

  • You’ll create a space where guests, colleagues and visitors genuinely enjoy spending time.
  • Build strong relationships with regular guests and stakeholders
  • Champion proactive hospitality and personalised service
  • Resolve feedback positively and professionally
  • Continuously seek opportunities to improve the guest experience
  • Create an atmosphere that reflects the energy and ambition of Birmingham City Football Club

Driving Commercial Success

  • You’ll understand that great hospitality and strong commercial performance go hand in hand.
  • Support delivery of sales, profitability and spend-per-head targets
  • Analyse customer trends and product performance
  • Collaborate on the development of the offer and customer journey
  • Maintain exceptional merchandising and presentation standards
  • Drive repeat visits, loyalty and engagement
  • Support promotional activity, activations and seasonal campaigns

You’ll think about the venue as a business, not simply a café.

Maintaining Standards

  • You’ll ensure operational excellence while preserving the warmth and personality that make great hospitality experiences memorable.
  • Maintain compliance across food safety, health & safety and allergen management
  • Uphold cleanliness, licensing and brand standards
  • Manage stock control and operational administration effectively
  • Ensure strong operational discipline and accountability throughout the venue

About You

We're looking for someone who brings:

  • Experience leading premium café, hospitality or food-led environments
  • Strong commercial awareness and operational expertise
  • Exceptional people leadership and communication skills
  • A genuine passion for hospitality and guest experience
  • High standards and strong attention to detail
  • Energy, positivity and presence
  • The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Confidence building relationships across diverse teams and stakeholders

Most importantly, you're someone who:

  • Notices the small things
  • Takes pride in creating great environments
  • Leads with ownership and accountability
  • Brings people together
  • Cares deeply about standards and experiences
