This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced naval architect to join an expanding naval architectural company in Southampton. As a Naval Architect, you will manage each element of a design project and work closely with our experienced team of naval architects, structural and production engineers.

  • A good understanding of Naval Architecture functions including but not limited to stability analysis, weight estimation, performance prediction.
  • A good understanding of vessel scantling and structural design, technical specification drafting, FMEA and compliance engineering.
  • Work with the production team to provide clear concise supporting design information including vessel structural arrangement and technical specification.
  • Experience in Project Management.
  • Experience in surveying and performing trials/tests on vessels.
  • An experienced user in 2D CAD software (AutoCAD), 3D CAD (Rhino or SolidWorks).
  • An experienced user in MS Office.
  • The individual is to represent the company in a business development manner from time to time.
  • The individual is to bring innovation and ideas of new designs/techniques which may increase the IP/product offering of Chartwell Marine.
