Overview
Health, Safety and Environmental Advisor [Junior or Experienced]
To support the Chartway Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality Department by aiding in the continual improvement of the Management Systems and health and safety standards. This will include accident/incident/near miss investigations, weekly safety inspections and monthly scored audits. This will also require the advisor to travel to various sites to observe and advise on site activities. They will also be required to travel to the factory and associated office to observe and advise on factory and office activities.
Specific Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day health, safety and the protection of the environment of a busy factory with multiple high-risk areas including the review and monitoring of internal systems, risk assessments and safe systems of work.
- Regularly attend clients’ sites to oversee installation activities to ensure compliance, and site conditions.
- Support the Company HSEQ Director with the continual development and improvement of Global Hub / SharePoint in line with the Company’s Objectives and Targets.
- Carry out regular audits in line with company policy.
- In line with the Contracts manager develop Risk Assessments and Method Statements.
- Work with the factory HR manager and Skills, Competency and Apprentice Manager to highlight training needs.
- Group businesses as required.
- After probationary period, undertake the “Appointed Person” Course regarding lifting operations.
- Risk, COSHH assessments and safe systems of works.
- Relationship management.

Training & Qualifications Minimum Requirements
- NEBOSH General as a minimum
- Experience of manufacturing/site based desirable
- CSCS Card relevant to profession. iHasco company mandatory eLearning within one month of starting with Chartway.
- Any other existing training qualifications are to be maintained by the individual in discussion with the Skills, Competency and Apprentice Manager.
- Full UK Driving Licence with Business Insurance.
