Chartway Building Supplies has spent the last 25 years helping local trades, customers, and companies deliver all types of build projects, from home renovations and DIY to large-scale developments across the South East. Right now, due to our continued growth plans, we are looking for an External Sales Executive to join our growing Building Supplies business on a permanent contract at our store in Queenborough, Isle of Sheppey, Kent. About The Role… As our External Sales Executive, you will be responsible for developing new business opportunities and managing relationships with existing customers to drive sales growth. You will be the face of Chartway Building Supplies, representing our brand and ensuring we remain the partner of choice for all building materials. Your role will involve visiting customers regularly, building long-lasting relationships, and securing repeat business. You will also identify and develop new business opportunities within the industry, meet or exceed sales targets, and maximise margins. Providing expert advice on building materials will be essential to support customer needs and deliver tailored solutions. Additionally, you will work closely with the sales team to achieve shared goals and maintain smooth operations across the business. What you’ll need… We’re looking for motivated professionals with proven experience in an external sales role within a timber, builders’ merchant, or similar industry. You should have strong customer service, communication, and negotiation skills, along with a customer-focused approach to selling. A solid understanding of building materials is essential, and you will need to be self-motivated, results-driven, and able to work independently. You should also possess a personable and professional demeanour, as well as the ability to collaborate effectively with a team.
