We’re looking for an experienced Commercial Manager to join the team at Chartford Homes. Based in Yorkshire, this is a hands‑on role for someone who wants to influence outcomes, take ownership and play a key role in the delivery of high‑quality residential developments.
Working closely with our land, technical and construction teams, you’ll manage the full commercial lifecycle, from early‑stage viability and cost planning through to procurement, delivery and final account, ensuring projects remain commercially robust, well managed and quality‑led throughout.
The role will involve:
- Managing development budgets, cost plans and forecasting
- Supporting land acquisition with feasibility studies and cost advice
- Producing CVRs and project reporting
- Managing procurement, tendering and subcontractor negotiations
- Overseeing valuations, variations and final accounts
- Identifying commercial risks and value engineering opportunities
What we’re looking for:
- Experience in a Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management role within residential housebuilding
- Strong knowledge of JCT contracts and current building regulations
- Commercial awareness with confident negotiation skills
- Experience managing projects through the full lifecycle
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across regional sites
