Charterhouse seeks to appoint, for September 2025, an inspirational and passionate Teacher of Geography.
We are looking for an individual who will be interested in developing not only their teaching but wanting to take full advantage of opportunities to make a positive contribution to the running of the Department through leadership of key projects to modernise departmental resources and, curricula, schemes of work, the use of technology and fieldwork – all aimed at promoting an innovative, pupil-centred approach to learning.
Currently, eight members of the Department occupy contiguous, very attractive, and spacious rooms at the heart of the School. The Department is friendly, enthusiastic, and well-resourced; the successful applicant will be expected to maintain a tradition of rigorous scholarship and dedication to the business of teaching Geography in a lively but effective way. The Department believes strongly in the benefits of fieldwork (recent trips have visited Morocco, Iceland, Norway, France, Dorset, Yorkshire and London, as well as local sites), and the successful applicant should be prepared to organise and/or support these in term-time, at weekends and in the holidays.
