The predicted salary is between 30000 - 40000 Β£ per year.

This role is for a BFA-qualified coach who will lead and develop fencing for pupils in Years 9–13, running term-time coaching sessions, refereeing fixtures and growing a club currently of around 15 fencers. You will work with the Director of Sport and the staff member in charge of fencing to deliver high-quality foil coaching, support pupils competing at Public Schools events and contribute to a welcoming sporting culture on a large campus.

What you'll be doing:

  • Plan and deliver purposeful, age-appropriate fencing coaching sessions (mainly foil) for Years 9–13.
  • Referee matches at school fixtures (home and away) and support match organisation as required.
  • Support the staff member in charge of fencing to maintain standards, behaviour expectations and progression pathways for pupils.
  • Prepare pupils for the Public Schools Fencing Championships (three full days in March) and other competitions.
  • Maintain professional conduct at all times and work with the safeguarding and pastoral teams to protect pupil welfare.
  • Liaise with the Director of Sport about timetable, fixtures and any additional training sessions or trips.

Sessions currently run during term time: Tuesdays 16:00–18:00 and Thursdays 15:00–18:00, with earlier Thursday starts (14:00) when away; some Saturday refereeing or optional training is required.
