Assistant Accountant to join our dynamic team.

Responsibilities

  • Post daily bank statements to Sage and produce daily cash flow forecasts, bank summaries, and reports
  • Review purchase invoices against budgets weekly, process purchase ledgers, and manage monthly BACS payments.
  • Handle 4-weekly invoice runs for residents and councils, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Chase outstanding debts and prepare statements
  • Reconcile accounts using Excel to identify outstanding debts and discrepancies.
  • Process weekly and monthly payroll.
  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations to maintain accurate financial records.
  • Collaborate with home managers to resolve queries related to payroll.
  • Answer telephone inquiries and address customer or supplier queries professionally.
  • Prepare monthly accounts up to Trial Balance and Management Accounts
  • Support Directors with ad hoc projects and reports as required.
  • Undertake general administrative tasks to support the smooth running of the department.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in an accounting or finance role, preferably in a similar capacity.
  • Proficiency in Sage and Excel
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities to meet tight deadlines.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to liaise with various stakeholders.
  • A proactive and adaptable approach to handling multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Payroll systems and experience - desirable but not essential
  • A professional qualification in accounting or finance (AAT, ACCA, or equivalent) is desirable but not essential.
