We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Transport Planner to join a close-knit and enthusiastic team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in optimising our clients' supply chain and logistics operations. In this role, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and improving transport routes and schedules to ensure operational efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and exceptional service delivery. You will work closely with drivers, customers, and internal stakeholders to ensure transport activities run smoothly while maintaining compliance with all relevant industry regulations and standards.
Working only 4 days a week for 5 days pay! FLEXIBLE working pattern - Saturday and/or Sunday is a must every week and if you are prepared to work both Saturday and Sunday every week then your working week became a 4 day rather than a 5 day week for the same pay! Working hours 7am - 4pm OR 8am-5pm. Up to £36,000 depending on experience. Quarterly bonus scheme based on company profit.
Responsibilities- Develop and implement robust transport plans and schedules to deliver goods promptly and cost-effectively.
- Analyse delivery schedules and identify optimal routes to reduce turnaround times.
- Ensuring loads are compliant in terms of weight, temperature, security etc.
- Ensure compliance with all transport regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
- Prepare and present data-driven reports and KPIs to measure performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Communicate effectively with drivers, carriers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth operations and resolve issues promptly.
- Utilize transport management systems and other tools to oversee scheduling, routing, and tracking.
- Assess risk, identify bottlenecks, and develop contingency plans to mitigate disruptions in delivery.
- Conduct regular reviews of transport performance metrics and take corrective actions as needed.
- Assist in troubleshooting transport-related disruptions and elevate issues for resolution when necessary.
- Ensure that all shipments are tracked from origin to destination for timely delivery and customer satisfaction.
- Proficiency in transport planning software, logistics tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Previous transport planning experience within a haulage firm is essential.
- Ability to use various and changing digital platforms used in transport management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an attention to detail.
- Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities.
- Knowledge of transportation regulations, policies, and compliance standards.
