My client, a leading company in their field, is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Assistant to join their busy finance team. This is a Part Time flexible role of 25 hours per week. The ideal candidate will support the smooth running of the finance department by carrying out general accounting and sales ledger duties. This role requires strong knowledge of accounting software and a commitment to maintaining accurate financial records.

Responsibilities

  • Production of month end Applications, working to deadlines
  • Managing document flow required for submission with Application
  • Understanding of Construction Industry Scheme & VAT Domestic Reverse Charge
  • Entry onto bespoke company database & Sage 50 Accounts
  • Various Microsoft Excel logs/reports updated with month end figures
  • Day to day sales invoices working in partnership with others
  • Cashflow
  • Sage bank and control accounts reconciliation
  • Depreciation & Prepayments
  • Overall monitoring of Sage 50 Accounts entries by each department to ensure accuracy of trial balance
  • Production of Profit & Loss report
  • VAT Return submission
  • Monitoring statutory deadlines to ensure submission of key financial documents by various departments e.g. HMRC Payments, CIS returns
  • Credit card reconciliation and ensuring all required documents have been obtained
  • Support for other accounting roles i.e. payroll, purchase ledger & credit control
  • Working with external accountants
  • General data analysis as required by Management

Experience required

  • Have a minimum two-years accountancy experience
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Be hard working and hands on
  • Must have first class communication and organisational skills
  • Excellent time keeping & ability to work to fixed deadlines
  • Good commercial awareness
  • Computer literate and experience of computerised accounts software
