Salary: £96,000 - £106,000

Your role:

As Group Marketing Director, you will shape and deliver the Chartered Insurance Institute's marketing strategy across the UK and international markets, ensuring activity is aligned to organisational priorities, growth ambitions and public value. Leading a centre of excellence for marketing, you will bring together product and customer marketing, integrated campaigns, digital experience and audience engagement to strengthen the CII's reputation, broaden its reach and deepen relationships with members, customers and partners.

Working closely with the Executive Leadership Team and senior stakeholders, you will drive insight-led, audience-focused marketing that supports growth across membership, learning and professional development. You will ensure the CII's brand, value proposition and voice are consistently expressed across campaigns, communications, partnerships and events, while positioning the Institute as a leading professional body in the UK and an internationally recognised authority on professional standards.

You'll also play a key role in advancing a modern, data-driven marketing function, using audience insight, marketing technology and automation to enhance targeting, engagement and performance. Alongside leading and developing a high-performing team, you will oversee agency partnerships and external suppliers, ensuring marketing activity delivers impact, innovation and value for money.

You:

  • You are a strategic marketing leader who enjoys translating organisational objectives into impactful, audience-focused marketing strategies that deliver measurable results.
  • You combine strong commercial awareness with a deep understanding of customer, member and market insights, using data to inform decisions and optimise performance.
  • You are experienced in leading integrated, multi-channel campaigns that strengthen brand visibility, grow engagement and support acquisition, retention and advocacy.
  • You are comfortable operating at a senior level, influencing stakeholders, building partnerships and providing trusted marketing counsel to executive leaders.
  • You bring a modern marketing mindset, leveraging digital channels, marketing technology, automation and analytics to enhance audience experiences and business outcomes.
  • You are an inclusive and motivational leader who develops high-performing teams, fosters collaboration and creates a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.
