Balfour Beatty Power T&D is looking for a Strategic Relationship Manager to take the lead in building the resilient, innovative and high-performing supply chain needed for the next decade of growth. This is your chance to build powerful partnerships, champion innovation, and help shape a supply chain capable of delivering the UK's energy transformation. As the industry rapidly evolves, so must our supply chain. Working closely with our Senior Supply Chain Manager, Head of Procurement and operational leaders, you'll be at the heart of creating a fit-for-future network of suppliers - one that delivers on quality, safety, capacity, innovation and long-term resilience. Your work will directly impact how we grow, how we collaborate, and how we deliver major national infrastructure.
What you'll be doing:
- Build Strategic Partnerships: Develop long-term, high-value relationships with key suppliers and internal stakeholders to support our 5+ year growth plans.
- Lead Supplier Relationship Management: Take ownership of the Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) programme - driving continuous improvement, innovation and mutual value.
- Shape Strategic Direction: Turn data and insights into clear strategies that inform senior decision-making and support long-term business goals.
- Champion Innovation: Bring new ideas, technologies and ways of working into the supply chain - helping us deliver smarter, safer, greener solutions.
- Drive Performance Excellence: Use digital tools and KPIs to monitor, develop and improve supplier performance across quality, safety and sustainability.
- Create Collaboration & Clarity: Lead workshops, forums and discussions that foster strong communication, problem-solving and transparency.
- Understand Market Trends & Risk: Carry out market and risk analysis to keep our supply chain resilient, future-proof and aligned with industry shifts.
Who we're looking for:
- Strong Supply Chain experience.
- Prior experience in line management.
- Proven relationship management expertise within a complex or fast-growing environment.
- A growth mindset and genuine desire to develop and progress.
- Confident communication skills, with a transparent, solutions-focused approach.
- Strategic thinking, using information and insight to shape decisions.
- Digital fluency across procurement and performance tools.
- Experience in project management and leading change initiatives.
- MCIPS or equivalent (advantageous but not essential).
