The Project Buyer will be responsible for purchasing all materials used within the course of the Business. The job holder will develop dependable supply sources and purchase all materials to the company's business requirements, using Group deals where required, ensuring materials are delivered on time and on budget. They will ensure that all Group Purchasing specifications, policies and procedures are adhered to with the Business Plan.

Responsibilities & Duties Including but not limited to the following:

  • Send out enquiries for appropriate materials and collate and analyse the returned quotations.
  • Place orders with suitable suppliers, ensuring goods are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Ensure quality and performance of materials are in line with required standards.
  • Consolidate purchases of materials to achieve maximum value for money.
  • Interview & liaise with new / potential suppliers as required.
  • Encourage and develop, negotiate agreements with suppliers and manufacturers within the envelope of the Business Procedures.
  • Ensure that Group Buying deals are adhered to alongside the Procurement Manager.
  • Ensure that Group Terms & Conditions are adhered to.
  • Ensure that all purchasing activity is compliant with Company Policies and Procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with the Group's Health, Safety and Environmental Policy within the Purchasing Function.
  • Action site requests for additional materials.
  • Authorise all site call-offs for materials.
  • Order and authorise the hire of plant equipment and small tools.
  • Expedite all orders to ensure an efficient delivery schedule.
  • Organise welfare facilities for all sites.
  • Contribute to improving the Business, protecting and enhancing the reputation of the Company.
