About the role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Purchasing Officer to provide high-quality financial and administrative support within a busy operations environment. This role involves managing high-value transactions, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring compliance with financial policies and procedures.

- Experience in financial administration or a similar purchasing role
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping
- Experience producing and interpreting financial reports
The position is set to commence ASAP and will be full-time for an initial duration of 12 weeks with a pay rate of £16.92 per hour + holiday pay.
Key Responsibilities
- Process high-value purchase orders and requisitions in the Oracle Financial system.
- Support overseas programmes by acting as R12 shopper and advising on tendering documentation and processes.
- Ensure all transactions comply with internal and external financial regulations.
- Review and manage requisitions, order closures, and cancellations promptly.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of departmental financial procedures.
- Liaise with finance teams, suppliers, and key stakeholders to resolve queries and ensure timely financial processing.
- Produce and present data and reports to support operational reviews and decision-making.
- Support the setup of Oracle Shopper access and maintain accurate system data and records.
- Conduct site visits to engage with end users and provide purchasing support.
Selection Criteria
- Experience in financial administration or a similar purchasing role.
- Proficiency in computerised financial systems and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively at all levels.
- Experience producing and interpreting financial reports.
- Ability to apply financial policies effectively and consistently.
- Capable of working independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Educated to at least GCSE level (or equivalent), with proven numerical ability.
