Job description
Global engineering business require a Procurement Manager (Indirect). Applicants need broad indirect procurement experience and expertise across the full procurement lifecycle; supplier selection, sourcing/tendering, supplier relationship and contracts management.
The Procurement Manager – Indirect will be responsible for leading all indirect goods and services procurement activity for the business covering a small number of UK sites. Category spend areas in focus is everything from; IT, corporate/business services, FM, technical services, to PPE, uniforms and stationary/office equipment. Previous experience across all category areas is not required, the role would suit an indirect procurement generalist who is a self-starter and confident in stakeholder interactions.
Specific duties of the Procurement Manager – Indirect, include:

  • Stakeholder partnering – understand scope, manage relationships, facilitate 360 feedback with suppliers
  • Develop and implement indirect procurement strategies
  • Supply market intelligence and supplier selection activities
  • Manage high-value and complex tenders, right through to award
  • Post-signature supplier relationship, supplier development and contract negotiation and management of agreements
  • Support procurement leadership with process improvement or particular cost reduction projects

Procurement Manager – Indirect applicants should meet the following criteria:

  • Indirect procurement experience, ideally generalist expertise covering a range of spend areas; business services corporate services, IT, FM, consultancies, fleet, travel etc.
  • Previous experience as an Indirect Procurement Manager, Indirect Sourcing Manager, Indirect Category Manager, Indirect Buyer or in Category Management, etc. would all work well here
  • The ability to own, influencing and managing stakeholder relationships
  • Strategic procurement toolkit; the ability to negotiate, develop suppliers and experience working with contracts
  • A pro-active, confident, self-starter who is comfortable in a hybrid working role
