About The Role
Join Our Dynamic Commercial Team at IPL! We are thrilled to announce an exciting opportunity for a Specialist - Buyer to become a vital part of our onsite Commercial Team at our dedicated House Plants & Flowers site in Whittlesey, Peterborough. If you are passionate about Procurement and eager to contribute to a dynamic team, this role is perfect for you!
Position Details:
- Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm
- Location: IPL Whittlesey - Site based role
- Contract Type: Permanent
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Have an understanding of the current market conditions
- Working with the senior commercial managerial teams, you will develop and refine the current procurement plans to deliver the required margin, quality and availability to our ASDA customers
- You will provide both new and improved varieties and products within the category scope to exceed the expectations of our customers whilst ensuring we are cost effective & competitive within the market
- Maintaining all procurement satisfies GSCOP processes
- As a strong communicator, you will liaise with our planners to support the control of stock and ensure our internal and external operations teams are aware of volumes and potential risks to enable them deliver the lowest cost supply route to market
What are we looking for?
- You will have some capacity of buying experience either through a direct buying or buying assistant role (horticulture experience would be advantageous)
- Demonstrate cost saving procurement solutions implemented in previous roles
- An exceptional communicator - both verbally and written, you will able to demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, relationship building and networking ability
- You will have used a wide range of buying tools, including a sustainable sourcing approach (desirable)
- You will have fantastic attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple complex and long lead time projects
