The Procurement Specialist will be responsible for providing "end to end" procurement support for a given set of direct materials or services. They will be required to apply sourcing policies, interface between supplier and internal stakeholders with respect to specifications, budgets, and schedules. The Procurement Specialist will also support the Regional Procurement Leader with team KPIs, procurement initiatives and operational objectives.

As a Procurement Specialist, you will be responsible for:

  • Obtaining quotes, placing and following up on POs.
  • Managing relationships with suppliers for PO execution.
  • Managing problems and schedule changes.
  • Updating ERP and internal stakeholders.
  • Developing and distributing departmental reports to support with internal KPIs and operational schedules.
  • Managing relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders for PO execution and budget savings.
  • Supporting Regional Procurement Leader with department resource planning and strategic initiatives.
  • Supporting with delegating tasks and setting priorities for the team when required.
  • Supporting with department training including process, systems, and onboarding.
  • Advising Functional managers or other Functions regarding approaches, process, and procedures in their own field.
  • Handling communication with direct colleagues and the business about approach and methods for solving complex problems.
  • Contributing to projects as a team member or leading small projects.

Work goals typically take 1-3 months to complete and the time horizon for results/impact is typically 2-12 months after the event.

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have some experience working in Procurement.
  • Have sound negotiating and problem-solving skills.
  • Be able to demonstrate good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Have good organisational and time management skills.
