We have an exciting opportunity for a Buyer to join the MEP Procurement & Supply Chain team at Bouygues UK. In this role you will support pre‑construction and live project procurement activities across a range of major construction projects, including healthcare, education and residential developments. You will assist with the procurement of MEP materials and supply packages, supporting tendering activities, supplier negotiations and project delivery requirements.
Qualifications
- Experience within MEP buying or procurement role
- Good commercial awareness and negotiation skills
- Strong organisational and communication abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel with experience using procurement and ERP systems
- Main contractor or subcontractor experience
Key Responsibilities
- Support procurement activities from enquiry through to order placement
- Obtain quotations and undertake commercial comparisons
- Liaise with suppliers and project teams to ensure timely delivery of materials
- Support negotiations to achieve best value and programme outcomes
- Assist with supplier account management and performance monitoring
- Maintain procurement records and purchasing systems
- Work collaboratively with commercial, project and technical teams
- Support the development of strategic supplier relationships
