As a result, alongside several consortium partners, Balfour Beatty has been selected by bp (British Petroleum) to construct a first-of-a-kind fully integrated gas-fired power station with carbon capture and storage which is a key driving force behind plans to make Teesside the UK's first decarbonised industrial cluster. Balfour Beatty is seeking a dynamic Logistics Coordinator to contribute to the Net Zero Teesside (NZT) project based at our site in Redcar and Cleveland.

Role purpose: To coordinate, organise and cost all the Site Support and Logistics Deliverables for the current and future programme as well as manage a dedicated number of key suppliers.

Responsibilities:

  • Organisation of laydown and/or on site storage for incoming materials;
  • Assisting with the preservation of received materials;
  • Preparing logistics reports for project teams and commercial management;
  • Contributing to cost estimates for temporary works and update project teams of any changes i.e. additional costs in case of project extension/scope change;
  • Maintain a Logistics Schedule with a Lookahead plan to improve project execution and control allowing team members to focus on upcoming priorities and ensure that all required tools, equipment and resources are in place;
  • Prepare Requisition Forms required for plant delivery to work sites confirming correct project number, delivery address, on-hire and off hire dates;
  • Store and update documentation related to logistics arrangements;
  • Liaising with Environmental Advisor on the status of consent from local authorities for work on construction sites;
  • Arrange Noise Monitoring as per section 61 requirement;
  • Issue PO requests for suppliers to ensure timely invoice processing and answer supplier queries regarding status of PO whilst liaising with procurement;
  • Request and update information for logistics requirements from project teams for effective planning;
  • Add staff Vehicle Registration Numbers to the whitelist for car parks required for site visits and other works and in keeping with the Traffic Management Procedure;
  • Assist Senior Project Manager and Logistics Manager with any additional arrangements.

Qualifications:

  • Self motivated to work on their own and deliver against a set of target;
  • Good time management skills and excellent communication skills;
  • Ability to work with people at various levels both internal and external;
  • Numeracy and IT skills in MS Office.

Desirable:

  • Accounting and finance qualifications;
  • Understanding of the construction in the industrial sector;
  • Understanding of Working Rule Agreements;
  • Experience of managing a team.
