Here at Phase Eight we're looking for a Buyer to join us covering all aspects of buying within our Outerwear, Tailoring and Bottoms department. Our buyers are at the core of our business, developing and delivering commercial and profitable ranges that offer our Phase Eight customer a point of difference.
What you’ll do
- Working closely with the design team to develop new product ranges seasonally, ensuring our ranges are delivered on time achieving company KPI's (in-take, margin and markdown).
- Partner closely with the merchandising team to drive profits.
- Anticipate and meet the needs of our global customer on the department, delivering a well-balanced range in line with our product and overall brand strategy.
- Reporting into the Head of Buying, aim to maximise profit and deliver the premium handwriting and high-quality standards we are renowned for at Phase Eight.
- Work with the Merchandiser to create new season product plans for your department, based on lessons learnt and forward strategy.
- Operate fits with Design, manage any basic technical queries where required with a focus on detail and quality.
- Formulate phasing, stories and deliver to category targets successfully communicating the vision for specific ranges to other departments such as ecommerce and retail operations.
- Together with the Head of Buying, formulate a supply base strategy to meet product requirements, margin, quality and compliance.
Who you’ll be
We are looking for a Buyer who possesses previous experience within Outerwear, Tailoring and/or Bottoms at Buyer level with proven commercial success on the product areas managed. Experience working on Denim would be advantageous. The Buyer will demonstrate high integrity, motivation, and a solution focused approach. The ability to easily transition between planning and execution is key as is a naturally collaborative and positive approach. We would need you to show a strong commercial acumen and be highly numerate with strong analytical skills, able to identify opportunities and pursue them on the department.
