Join Our Dynamic Commercial Team at IPL Normanton! We are thrilled to announce an exciting opportunity for a Specialist – Buyer to become a vital part of our onsite Commercial Team at IPL. If you are passionate and eager to contribute to a dynamic team, this role is perfect for you.

Position Details

  • Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:30 am – 5:00 pm
  • Location: IPL Normanton, site based role
  • Contract Type: Permanent

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Have an understanding of the current market conditions
  • Work with the senior commercial managerial teams to develop and refine procurement plans to deliver the required margin, quality and availability to our ASDA customers
  • Manage supplier relationships, ensuring focus on availability, quality and financial plan commitments are met
  • Provide new and improved varieties and products within the category scope to exceed customer expectations while ensuring cost‑effectiveness and competitiveness
  • Maintain all procurement processes to meet GSCOP standards
  • Liaise with procurement advisors to support stock control and inform internal and external operations on volumes and potential risks to enable the lowest cost supply route to market

What we are looking for:

  • An experienced buyer or an ambitious junior buyer; a background in Fresh Produce or FMCG is a valuable advantage
  • Track record of implementing cost‑saving procurement solutions
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and strong interpersonal, relationship building and networking skills
  • Experience with a wide range of buying tools, including a sustainable sourcing approach
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple complex and long‑lead‑time projects
