This position is in Cargill's food and bioindustrial business, where manufacturers, retailers, and foodservice companies rely on us to consistently deliver the products and services they need, and use our technical expertise and market knowledge to develop innovative products.
Job Purpose and Impact
The Buyer will be responsible for the end-to-end management and execution of sourcing activities within CBI UK & EMEA, with a primary focus on Packaging and Oleochemicals. This role will primarily support factories located in Hull (UK), Gouda (NL), and Tampere (FI). In this position, you will manage complex procurement processes within CBI and contribute to cross-business, regional, and global category strategies. You will also influence stakeholders within the job area by clearly explaining facts, policies, and practices. Additionally, you will build and maintain strategic relationships with key suppliers and internal stakeholders, ensuring alignment with overall category and sourcing objectives.
Key Accountabilities
- Builds and applies a comprehensive understanding of regional spend, stakeholder landscape, and the procurement landscape.
- Executes medium and highly complex regional sourcing decisions and events.
- Drives the implementation of regional sourcing decisions and provides support with the implementation of global sourcing decisions.
- Ensures business continuity by proactively mitigating supply and supplier risks.
- Demonstrates a medium/high level understanding of Source-to-Contract processes, including-but not limited to-sourcing execution, contract management excellence, procurement, market/spend data analysis, negotiations, procurement tools/systems, and Supplier Relationship/Partnership Management.
- Provides inputs to the global category team for category strategy development and execution (where needed).
- Manages ongoing regional supplier and stakeholder relationships, for the long term, to deliver value across various areas whilst complying with regulatory requirements (e.g., innovation, sustainability).
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of two years procurement experience.
- Practice knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Power Point).
- Fluent English.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in Source to Contract activities.
- Relevant market experience.
- SAP Ariba practice knowledge.
