Role Overview and Responsibilities
The Demand Planner will be responsible for developing accurate demand forecasts and collaborating with multiple departments, including Commercial and Operations, to align business processes and strategies. The Demand Planner must be adept at managing complexities in a fastâpaced environment, demonstrating problemâsolving skills and adaptability. This role requires a blend of analytical expertise and business acumen to ensure that production capabilities meet or exceed demand forecasts.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain detailed schedules to meet operational demands by planning material and forecasted demand to meet budget.
- Raise sales orders and upload into MRP after contract review.
- Raise and issue works orders as required by the delivery schedule.
- Expedite or defer orders as required in line with schedule / inventory changes.
- Facilitate problem resolutions with stakeholders to include Booking in/BOM/Demand/Invoice queries.
- Collaborate with department heads and team members to gather scheduling needs and prioritise tasks performing scenario planning when required.
- Monitor and adjust schedules as necessary to accommodate changes in priorities, employee availability, and unforeseen circumstances.
- Analyse scheduling data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement.
- Identify supply chain constraints and discrepancies between supply and demand.
- Prepare and present forecast and inventory metrics to the Operations team.
- Utilise scheduling software and tools to streamline the scheduling process and enhance communication.
- Provide timely updates and reports on scheduling status to management and relevant stakeholders.
- Assist in training new team members on scheduling processes and tools.
- Serve as the point of contact for schedulingârelated inquiries and resolve any scheduling conflicts that may arise.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the scheduling process by regularly reviewing and improving forecasting techniques, methods, and approaches.
- Monitor and measure planning performance through creation of process KPI's.
Qualifications, Skills and Attributes
- Relevant experience in scheduling, planning, or a related role.
- Proficiency in scheduling software and tools (ERP, Microsoft Office, FileMaker, etc).
- Strong analytical and problemâsolving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
