What does a successful Commercial Manager, Payments do?
A successful Commercial Manager, Payments partners across product, sales, finance and partnerships to translate market insight into scalable revenue and pricing strategies that advance Fiserv's mission of helping clients meet their customers where they are. You will be a catalyst for profitable growth across our fintech and payments portfolio, balancing speed and rigor in a fast-moving, regulated environment. You will model commercial outcomes, negotiate strategic agreements, and govern pricing to sustain long-term client value. What you will do:
- Define and implement commercial strategy to grow our payments and embedded finance portfolio.
- Design, manage, and govern pricing frameworks and rate structures across products and markets.
- Partner with product, sales, legal, and finance to develop business cases, TCO models, and go-to-market plans.
- Negotiate and structure commercial agreements, SLAs, and partnership terms with key clients and partners.
- Monitor financial performance, produce forecasts and margin analyses, and recommend corrective actions.
- Lead cross-functional pricing governance, approvals, and change control processes.
- Build scalable pricing models and tools to support quoting, CPQ, and deal evaluation.
- Support contract negotiations and commercial due diligence for strategic transactions.
What you will need to have:
- Demonstrate strong commercial and financial acumen with proven experience building pricing and profitability models.
- Show familiarity with pricing and regulatory dynamics in financial services and payments.
- Understand acquiring, issuing, open banking, or embedded finance product economics.
- Exhibit proven negotiation skills and experience managing strategic commercial partnerships.
- Be effective with data analysis and commercial tooling (advanced Excel; experience with BI tools or CPQ).
What would be great to have:
- Experience working in agile, high-growth fintech or payments organizations.
- Knowledge of payment rails, processor economics, and interchange dynamics.
- Familiarity with contract structures, commercial legal terms, and risk allocation.
- Hands-on experience with SQL, Power BI/Tableau, or Salesforce/CPQ.
- MBA or relevant advanced certification.
