Law Lecturer (Criminal Law, Procedure and Practice)

Remote Working with some in-person meetings

Full-time 35 hours per week

Salary -£43,500 p.a.

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic legal professional to join our team as a Law Lecturer in Criminal Law, Procedure and Practice.

The role:

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with practice experience in criminal law who is passionate about supporting the next generation of legal professionals. Previous teaching experience is not essential. We welcome applications from practitioners looking to take the next step in their career and bring their expertise into legal education.

What we are looking for:

Essential:

• Professional Legal Qualification: CILEX Legal Executive, Solicitor or Barrister or Licensed Conveyancer
• Legal Practice experience

Desirable:

• Masters Degree or LLM
• PGCert/FHEA/SHEA/PHEA
• Teaching qualification or HEA recognition
• Experience of teaching, training or developing others in criminal law

• Strong communication skills including confident presenting
• Ability to work independently
• Attention to detail and ability to analyse and synthesise complex information

• Excellent inter-personal skills and demonstrable ability to forge good working relationships with a variety of stakeholders
• Self-motivated and able to work autonomously
• Passionate about helping students succeed, with a strong desire to improve the learner experience
• Exceptional communication skills and enthusiasm for teaching students
• Ability to work with initiative and the confidence to act decisively within agreed limits
• A willingness to work flexibly when required
• Ability to work at some weekends and travel as required
