Overview

We are looking for a Consultant Ecologist to join our growing team based in the North East and Yorkshire.

As part of the team you will enjoy autonomy and flexibility in your work, while being part of a collaborative and trusted company. Whether you prefer working from home or from our office in Great Ayton, we are committed to supporting your preferred style of working.

All our ecologists have the opportunity to work on projects across a wide range of sectors including renewable energy, residential, leisure and mineral sites, with a diverse range of clients from individual homeowners to global enterprises.

In addition to a competitive salary, we offer all full-time employees 23 days annual leave (excluding bank holidays) with the option to buy up to 5 additional days, a flexible working policy, private healthcare for employees and their families, a generous pension contribution, long service rewards, access to company vehicles and a bonus scheme.

Responsibilities and qualifications

  • Knowledge and understanding of the planning system and current and evolving wildlife policy and legislation.
  • Experience undertaking Preliminary Ecological Appraisals, Biodiversity Net Gain assessments and Ecological Impact Assessments.
  • An ability to produce written reports to a high standard.
  • Effective project management and client liaison skills.
  • The ability to identify, understand, and resolve ecological issues.
  • Enthusiasm for ecology and the environment in the UK.
  • An organised approach to work, flexibility and a high level of motivation.
  • A good BSc and / or MSc in a relevant subject.
  • A full driving licence and access to your own transport.
  • CIEEM membership is preferred.
