Consultant and Senior Ecologists – Cheltenham or Cirencester
The Opportunity
We’re looking for Consultant and Senior Ecologists to join our passionate, dynamic and friendly team in either our Cheltenham or Cirencester office.
Who are EDP?
We’re The Environmental Dimension Partnership Ltd but most people know us as EDP. We’re a highly regarded environmental planning and design consultancy with a reputation for delivering a high-quality service for our clients.
We’re proud of our welcoming culture (The EDP Way), which promotes a diverse and inclusive workplace where every member of the team contributes, and we all individually have a role to play.
Whatever we do – whether we’re focusing on development or the environment – we make it our business to create positive change, for our people, our clients and the places we help to shape. For example, as well as seeking to make a difference at a project level, we offset the personal carbon footprint of everyone within the team.
The role
Benefiting from working in a multidisciplinary consultancy team, you will provide sound ecological advice and project support to Project Managers across a range of projects which vary in size, types and complexities.
You will be positive, proactive and solution focussed, have demonstrable experience of environmental consultancy, and be willing to contribute to a supportive work environment. You will be effective at working on your own and as part of a 30+ strong ecology team located across our three offices.
We’re an equal opportunities employer, so we’re delighted to offer family friendly and flexible working arrangements which can include a mix of office and home working.
Of course, we’ll need you to have all the right qualifications and experience – excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must. But to enjoy your time at EDP, you’ll also need to be personable, passionate, and proactive. We’re a friendly bunch but we do work hard.
We are keen to appoint a bat licensed ecologist with experience in mitigation and are particularly interested in applicants with tree climbing skills. Applicants with Biodiversity Net Gain experience or those with other Protected Species licenses are also highly sought after. In addition, you will have a good working knowledge of ecology, environmental legislation and survey techniques, hold a relevant degree and have or be eligible for CIEEM membership.
A full, valid UK driving licence is essential, with access to a vehicle for business use preferred.
Learning and Development
We’ll always invest in our people and have excellent learning and development opportunities for all our team members. This includes an extensive internal training programme to expand knowledge of our multi-disciplinary projects and roles within these. So, you can be confident you’ll grow and develop both personally and professionally when you join us.
We offer a very competitive benefits package, which includes:
- 5% employer pension contributions
- Private health insurance
- Life assurance
- Employee Assistance Programme
- 30 days annual leave (plus Bank Holidays and birthday holiday)
We’ll be reviewing applications as we receive them, with the intention to appoint someone as soon as possible.
