Ready to take the lead on nationwide projects with a trusted name in UK fencing?
Charnwood Fencing Ltd is a well-established, privately owned fencing contractor with over 35 years of success in the construction sector.
We specialise in the installation of security fencing, gates, hoardings, barriers, and automated access systems across the UK.
We’re now looking for an experienced and commercially astute Construction Estimator to join our growing team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone ready to take ownership of tendering processes, develop relationships with contractors and suppliers, and contribute directly to the future growth of our business.
What You’ll Be Doing
• Preparing accurate cost estimates for fencing and associated access solutions in line with client specifications.
• Reviewing tender documentation, drawings, and site requirements to assess feasibility.
• Obtaining competitive material and subcontractor quotes through your supply chain knowledge.
• Collaborating with the Projects Team to align pricing, specifications, and delivery times.
• Supporting commercial negotiations and contributing to early project delivery planning.
• Maintaining strong relationships with new and existing customers to aid business development.
What We’re Looking For
• Previous experience in estimating within the construction industry is essential.
• Ideally, you\’ll have experience with fencing, hoardings or automated access systems, although this isn’t essential.
• A solid understanding of technical drawings, specifications, and material costing.
• Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and comfortable with cloud-based estimating platforms.
• Strong numerical, analytical, and organisational skills.
• A confident communicator, able to liaise with suppliers, subcontractors, and Tier 1 contractors.
• Must hold a full UK driving licence and be willing to travel to sites occasionally.
Desirable (but not essential)
• Experience working with Tier 1 main contractors.
• Fencing industry experience.
• Degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or Civil Engineering.
• CSCS and SMSTS certification.
What We Offer
• Monday – Thursday 7.30am to 4.30pm, Friday 7.30am to 4.00pm.
• Office-based in Leicestershire with regular site visits.
• Company vehicle or car allowance.
• 30 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays.
