We are seeking to employ a Teaching Assistant to support students with learning needs, so that they can access the curriculum, participate in learning, experience a sense of achievement, and develop independence in learning and all other aspects of school life. This is a part-time, term time only post, working 32.5 hours per week, 39 weeks per year.
Charnwood College is an oversubscribed 11 to 18 school, which has seen significant improvements over the last five years. The most recent Ofsted inspection rated the school as Good in all areas stating that ‘Pupils at Charnwood College experience a culture of respect and positivity’ and that ‘Leaders have established an inclusive and calm environment in which pupils can learn’. Staff and students follow ‘The Charnwood Way’, to create a positive, learning culture in which all students are immersed. The spacious, well-maintained site offers excellent facilities over 40 acres. We have dedicated areas for a variety of sports, the arts and technology subjects.
We are proud of our ambitious, knowledge-rich curriculum providing broad and balanced opportunities for our students. As part of the David Ross Education Trust, the curriculum is hugely supported through Curriculum Leads, resources and training sessions. Teachers follow a common lesson rubric and embedded routines to deliver high quality learning and consistency across the school. All classrooms are well equipped and have visualisers in every room.
