We're looking for an organised and enthusiastic individual to join our Events Team and help deliver some of the borough's most well-loved events and activities. We need someone who is passionate about supporting events that bring communities together and who enjoys working in an environment where no two days are the same.
The Events and Administration Officer role will involve providing administrative support to the Council's events programme, including Loughborough Fair and the Christmas Light Switch-on and a range of community events delivered throughout the year. You will support event planning and delivery, coordinate meetings, maintain records and documentation, respond to enquiries and work closely with colleagues, contractors, businesses and community groups.
A key part of the role will be ensuring that event administration is managed effectively and that customers, stakeholders and event organisers receive a high standard of service. You will also assist with the administration and coordination of externally organised events taking place within the borough, helping to ensure relevant event notification processes and approvals are completed.
You will be proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel, and have strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and maintain accurate records. The role will occasionally involve working outside normal office hours, including early mornings, evenings and weekends, to support event delivery. This may involve working outdoors in varying weather conditions and undertaking light manual handling duties.
Everything we do within the Events Team supports the Council's wider ambitions to create thriving communities, support the local economy and deliver high-quality services for residents, visitors and businesses across Charnwood.
