Charnwood Borough Council in Leicestershire is searching for the latest member of Commercial and Economic Development Service. We are looking for a passionate individual who is customer focused, a team player and will play a vital role in fostering a positive health and safety culture across the Charnwood Borough Council. You will support the development and delivery of a range of initiatives that ensure legal compliance and promote continuous improvement, helping to safeguard our community and environment.
The role involves:
- Leading, implementing, and monitoring the corporate health and safety management system, ensuring staff health, safety, and welfare comply with current legislation.
- Reviewing accident reports, conducting risk and COSHH assessments, carrying out inspections and audits.
- Advising on health and safety requirements during contractor tendering and selection.
- Providing expert advice on health, safety, and wellbeing to the Council’s leadership team and line managers.
- Leading health and safety projects, preparing key project documents, and monitoring delivery through highlight reports.
- Delivering an effective, inclusive service to all users, ensuring fairness and high-quality customer care.
We’re looking for individuals with relevant health and safety experience, a chartered member of IOSH and suitably qualified (NEBOSH Health and Safety Management for Construction Certificate).
